As part of the lecture series: Who builds Nuremberg? How urban form is created, which is the result of a cooperation between the Neues Museum Nuremberg and the Association of German Architects BDA, Nuremberg, Central/Upper Franconia district, Peter Scheller gave a lecture entitled: "City, neighbourhood, house - retour" on 4th of October 2023.
The focus of the lecture is on the challenges and opportunities of building in times of global climate change. Are we still allowed to (re)build at all? And if so, how? What opportunities does our existing building stock offer? What materials will be used to build our houses in the future? What is sustainability? Based on Nuremberg building projects, as well as other projects, answers and perspectives will be given in three lectures.
